I’ve heard that some want Trump to back off on his attacks against Hillary while others want him to ramp it up. You can’t please every Monday morning armchair quarterback and back seat driver out there. 😛
Donald Trump just released this video on his Twitter account that lays out one of many public lies that Clinton has pursued – she likes to use the term “mistake” a lot but this video nails on it on the head – when does a mistake become a lie?
But supposedly it is more “principled” to make sure she gets into office because some people are uncomfortable with Donald Trump telling the truth about political reality out in the world.

As I expect you already knew, the difference between a mistake and a lie is intent, whether you specifically mean to do harm by misleading or not. And a lie isn’t a crime either, unless you have the evidence to prove it in court. We are proud (as we should be) that our system of justice includes a presumption that all accused are innocent unless and until proven guilty.

Ah the “it’s only wrong if you’re caught by the right people” defense. Too bad that Navy Sailor who took photos of a nuclear sub and is facing years in prison because of it can’t just say he made a mistake as he had no harmful intent (or no last name known as “Clinton”).
As for intent, the intent was clear when she setup a server in a private bathroom as well as other devices all meant to circumvent State Department rules and Federal Law. Intent was clear when she deleted 30,000+ emails that as have been unveiled piece by piece, did not contain yoga routines or details on Chelsea’s wedding. You can go right ahead and try and get a job at the State Department then do exactly what Hillary did – it will land you in jail. Unless of course you’re a multimillionaire donor or you have the right political connections. THAT is not something we should be proud of for our current justice system, that turns a blind eye to obvious and blatant corruption because of who they are. The Rule of Law is supposed to be that NO ONE is above the law. That is not what happened in the case of Hillary Clinton and this video simply makes that point.

I didn’t say lying, or mistakes aren’t wrong. The crime she was accused of required provable intent. The law the sailor broke says you can’t take pictures of a nuclear sub without express permission. He took the pictures. No intent is required under laws where “res ipsa loquitur” is in force.

Again, the intent was in setting up the server outside of the law in the first place; in her signing an NDA where she legally bound herself to not setting up a separate email system; in the destruction of evidence (deleting the emails) and the sharing of classified (sometimes higher info, such as SAP) on this server. Those are actions that are easily tested against laws.
That the FBI and Obama-controlled DOJ chose not to prosecute her does not mean that no crime was committed as the law *was* violated. She was protected because of who she is and the principle regarding the Rule of Law thrown out the window to keep the presumptive nominee for their party from facing prosecution.

There’s no law against setting up a private server, only against storing some types of info on one. As Comey said, they didn’t have the evidence needed to prosecute. He noted there were few precedents, and all of them included clear evidence of intent to cause harm.
These kinds of judgment calls happen all the time, not just to people named Clinton. The entire nation believed Al Capone was a murderer. They put him away for Income Tax evasion, because that’s the crime they could prove. But in Baltimore, they over-charged in the Freddie Gray cases, and so the officers all walked.
